About The Position

This posting is for multiple openings for Machine Operators across various shifts, including Process Tech Apprentice, Process Technician - Extrusion, and Process Technician - Flexo Press. The Process Tech Apprentice role involves learning and mastering extrusion line operations under guidance, focusing on efficiency, troubleshooting, and safety. The Process Technician - Extrusion role requires independent operation of extrusion lines, ensuring quality and productivity. The Process Technician - Flexo Press role involves setting up, operating, adjusting, and performing light maintenance on die cutters and flexographic printing operations, including ink management and quality control.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands-on work.
  • Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Ability to learn measurement tools.
  • Ability to effectively read, interpret and communicate industry and customer specific documentation.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain attention to detail.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
  • Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of related manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive training and assist in the startup, shutdown, and changeovers of extrusion lines.
  • Contribute to ensuring extrusion lines run at optimal efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring the production process to ensure output meets or exceeds set standards.
  • Learn and adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure compliance with all current company policies.
  • Develop effective communication skills.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to suggest improvements for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Operate extrusion lines independently and efficiently.
  • Perform tasks in compliance with Work Instructions to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure plastic sheets and rolls meet or exceed customer and MDI standards.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained.
  • Ensure all employees' times are properly assigned to production manufacturing orders.
  • Works independently, efficiently manages time, and uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Employ effective, respectful and persuasive spoken and written communication skills.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, techniques, and processes.
  • Understand Bill of Material (BOM) and determine job specifics.
  • Select and install printing plates, dies and related equipment.
  • Ink management: blending, testing, and maintaining ink consistency.
  • Operate equipment to ensure proper ink coverage, alignment and registration.
  • Maintain and adjust equipment to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Detect and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform and document required quality checks.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
