About The Position

Responsible for operation of CNC mills and lathes. This role involves daily machine warm-up and shut-down, using jog control and Manual Pulse Generator (MPG), and inspecting, replacing, and setting tooling. The operator will read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate dimensions, load and unload fixtures, and perform basic routine maintenance. Work also includes inspecting own work with gauges, communicating with various departments to resolve quality issues, and producing required quantities of parts to meet daily goals. The position requires utilizing the company's ERP system, maintaining firearm safety knowledge, completing paperwork accurately, adhering to all company policies and safety procedures, wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), reporting maintenance and safety issues immediately, and actively participating in the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation.

  • Knowledge of and experience with hand tools

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to, calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales
  • Ability to use tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various CNC machines
  • Prior CNC operator experience preferred.
  • General mechanical ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily warm up and shut down of machine.

  • Read and interpret drawings to determine dimensions of critical features to confirm accurate finished work pieces.
  • Load and unload fixtures.
  • Perform basic routine maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Perform inspection of own work using go and no-go gauge to ensure few or no mistakes are made in the assembly of the product.
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other manufacturing personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts and/or product to meet established daily goals.
  • Utilize company ERP system to track product through the production line.
  • Maintain sound working knowledge and application of firearm safety.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as always directed by Company.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards co-workers, other departments, and the Company.
  • Maintain respect, courtesy and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
  • Actively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and department.
  • Other duties assigned as required.
