The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring machines operate at or above established CNC rates. This role involves learning and applying various techniques such as hand trimming, scraping, polishing, and attaching components to complete parts for shipping according to job orders. The operator will also package parts, apply correct shipping labels, and properly label gaylords. Utilizing tools like heat guns and sonic gauges, the operator will maximize quality and production efficiencies to meet established forming standards under general supervision. Key responsibilities include identifying defects, logging into assigned jobs, reading and following Job Travelers, verifying machine setups against samples, and assessing quality using test fixtures, measuring devices, and visual observation. The role also includes operating a bandsaw for scrap trimming, accurately counting parts, completing and submitting paperwork, and ensuring accurate data entry into the ERP system. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles, and following all safety procedures are crucial. The position requires a commitment to continuous improvement in both quality and quantity of work performed, with additional tasks assigned as needed.
