Machine Operator is responsible for performing tasks involved in the fabrication of copper tubing components according to router or work instructions. This role involves reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, and following routers (work instructions) to complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision. The operator may utilize hand or power tools, work on semi-routine assignments, and shift between workstations as production needs require. Key responsibilities include obtaining and performing First Piece Validation, inspecting production pieces, troubleshooting and performing basic repairs or corrections on machinery, and cleaning machines daily. The operator must observe machine operation and inspect product appearance to detect defects or malfunctions, and report any defective materials, questionable conditions, or incorrect routers to the appropriate personnel. Scrap must be placed in the designated bin, and standard work methods should be followed to ensure production efficiency. The role also requires practicing safe work habits and maintaining the assigned work area and equipment according to the 5S housekeeping system.
