About The Position

Gregory Galvanizing & Metal Processing is hiring an experienced Machine Operator to set up, maintain, and operate machinery safely and responsibly, ensuring production runs continuously and efficiently. The role involves working closely with a helper and other team members to carry out production procedures with minimal interruptions and issues. On-the-job training is available to support learning and advancement to positions with increased responsibilities and pay.

The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5 a.m.–5 p.m., with 12-hour shifts; employees who work the full shift each day are paid for 40 hours. An alternative 5 p.m.–5 a.m. schedule is also referenced in the job title. The hourly wage is $22.66. The work environment is tobacco- and drug-free and safety-conscious.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a machine operator.
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of production procedures.
• Adherence to safety regulations, including constant use of protective gear.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Reliability and willingness to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines for production cycles, including calibration and cleaning.
• Control and adjust machine settings, such as speed.
• Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines with help from a helper.
• Inspect parts using precision and measuring tools.
• Check output for machine-related mistakes or flaws.
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
• Maintain activity logs.
• Work collaboratively with the helper and other team members to support efficient production.
