About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring machines are clean, organized, and operating according to standard operating procedures. This role requires basic knowledge of ice cream production and a commitment to the "clean as you go" principle. The operator will ensure effective handovers with maintenance and the next shift, reporting all faults and issues. The primary goal is to drive the production process to meet customer specifications, quality, and food safety standards, while achieving targeted outputs. Effective communication, adherence to health and safety requirements, and promoting a positive safety culture are essential. The role involves representing the company's values and working model through daily actions and behaviors, acting as an owner of the process. This includes coordinating the local work team's efforts, managing breaks, lunches, and rotations, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

  • One-year related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure machines are clean, organized, and operating correctly.
  • Use limited water when cleaning with the "clean as you go" principle.
  • Ensure correct use, storage, and set up of all equipment.
  • Effectively hand over to Maintenance and the next shift, reporting all faults and issues.
  • Drive the production process to meet customer specifications, quality, and food safety standards.
  • Ensure production meets targeted outputs through effective control of the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate effectively with the entire team.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained.
  • Represent the company's values and working model through behaviors.
  • Coordinate local work team's day to day efforts, controlling breaks, lunches, and rotations.
  • De-kitting the line and ensuring all packaging is returned to the warehouse.
  • Ensuring the line is checked after being cleaned and all tools are stored correctly.
  • Ensuring no stagnant water is left in any equipment.
