The Machine Operator on the 2nd shift is responsible for applying metal to customer orders and accurately processing material according to work order specifications. This role involves ensuring processing equipment is maintained safely and cleanly, and the processing area is kept in an orderly manner. The operator must accurately complete all required information entry and perform other assigned tasks. Key accountabilities include being certified in material handling, operating cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment, and pulling, inspecting, and verifying products before processing. The operator will properly and safely set up equipment to run material to specifications, process set up notes, and verify product compliance with written work instructions, recording measurements. Communication with sales representatives regarding order changes/clarifications is also required. Additional duties involve performing equipment preventive maintenance, general clean-up, managing material identification tags, assisting in packaging, maintaining measurement equipment, operating weighing scales, recording inspection measurements, and identifying/segregating scrap and non-conforming material. The role also includes providing feedback to supervision on machine efficiency and product quality, ensuring safety, training others, and assisting in lean and quality activities. This position is located directly on the warehouse floor, working on or around heavy machinery.
