About The Position

Operates one or more multiple spindle automatics. Responsible for maintaining quality of workpieces after set-ups has been made and checked by others. Removes, sharpens and re-sets tools and makes slight adjustments when necessary. Generally requires a year's experience to reach this level through on the job training.

Requirements

Ability to comprehend blueprints and use applicable measuring devices.
Ability and willingness to cross-train on other machine platforms in the shop to grow your individual talents and flexibility.
Ability to knee lift, waist lift, 2 handed carry, stand, reach, lift, push, pull, carry, stoop, and walk.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience preferred
Mechanically inclined, math skills
Machine trade school graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Maintain and operate all equipment.
Complete QA for each item.
Operate one or more Acme machines (Multi-Spindle machine).
Change inserts which may change daily depending on the operation.
Makes adjustments and tool changing/sharpening.
Lift materials off of cart to machine <40 #.
Lift pans off the table to the skid <40 # for tow motor to move to shipping area.
Stocks machine and pulls chips.
Maintains all fluid levels.
Use measuring tools for machines – Micrometer, Calipers, Tape measure
Some blueprint reading
Ensure area is clean before and after the operation had ended.
Assist with any other cleaning duties in that area that may develop.
Manually input daily part counts in the computer system
Input part counts into a computer system for daily record counts.
Check all parts for accuracy per piece, compliance with meeting all of company directives.
Maintains quality of work pieces
Paying close attention to details
