About The Position

The Machine Operator will participate in Luxfer's culture of safety by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment and wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). This role involves starting up, operating, monitoring, and shutting down machines safely without supervision according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The operator will load unfinished parts into machines and remove finished parts, monitor machine operation for consistent performance and product quality, and check part quality using designated measurement instruments. They will also perform routine set-up, periodic checks, and minor troubleshooting, operate sanding tools and additional equipment, and make necessary adjustments to machines to optimize performance. The goal is to produce high-quality parts according to manufacturing targets, schedules, and specifications, while assuming responsibility for safe and efficient task completion and maintaining an orderly work area adhering to 5S standards. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to pass a Drug Test
  • The acceptable outcome of a Background Check
  • Successfully complete a Pre-employment Physical
  • Stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools, equipment, or materials in repetitive tasks.
  • Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds continuously.
  • Occasionally moving equipment or parts up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and moderate-to-loud noise levels.
  • Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear protection, with additional PPE (such as gloves or a hard hat) required as appropriate by department or task.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • 1 (One) Year of Manufacturing Experience preferred.

  • Make necessary adjustments to machines to optimize performance and improve results.
  • Produce high-quality parts according to manufacturing targets, schedules, and specifications.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring that all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
