This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As a Machine Operator with the Advanced Manufacturing Group, you will be part of a hardworking team of machinists, engineers, and makers supporting development at Blue Origin.

Requirements

  • Desire to operate and learn in a constantly evolving machining environment
  • Demonstrated understanding on how metallic products are made, with a focus on machining and fabrication
  • Ability to take on challenges with incomplete information and pivot to drive progress.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to operate machining and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and operate enterprise production software on computers
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Must be able to obtain certification to drive forklift
  • Must be able to Lift and carry 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a CNC machining environment, including the logistics of material flow
  • Experience with operating CNC machines, including but not limited to saws, mills, lathes
  • Experience inspecting components with hand tools
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily machining functions of the team, including but not limited to: chip, coolant, and work-holding management
  • Operate various machines as required, both NC controlled and manual, including but not limited to saws, mills & lathes
  • Prep and route material for machining operations
  • Utilize and inspect components as required
  • Perform daily maintenance and regular cleaning of machinery and equipment
  • Support logistic operations for the team
  • Support the buildout of infrastructure and process flow initiatives
  • Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes
  • Partner with leadership to execute initiatives work based on organizational goals
  • Perform all tasks in safe and responsible manner
