Working for our team, you can truly make a difference. We are currently looking for Machine Operators to join our team. Experience is not required but always a bonus. The Slitter is responsible for taking master label rolls from the Rewind Feeder and transforms rolls into specific customer order rolls ready for shipping.

Requirements

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• Frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Sets up rewind machine to cut and rewind specific counts per customer order
• Runs orders, fills out core labels to identify order, and stacks orders on carts
• Keeps orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers
• Checks rolls while running for misprinting; report error to pressman and supervisor
• Cuts out “bad” labels on rolls and splices rolls
• Directs errors to rework area
• Rotates through rework area to rework “bad” rolls
• Clean rewind machine or turret machine as needed
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Operate turret machine
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
