About The Position

The Converting Operator prepares, runs, and maintains high-speed equipment that converts plastic film into bags in a flexible packaging manufacturing environment. The role involves operating a pouch machine safely, monitoring product quality and efficiency, resolving mechanical issues, maintaining production records, and completing routine maintenance and rework. The operator also removes and stages finished film, keeps the machine supplied with materials for the next shift, and follows safety guidelines, required PPE practices, and OSHA standards. The position is based in Lenexa, Kansas, and is scheduled for the third shift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

• Ability to read a measuring tape.
• Strong desire to learn and grow within manufacturing.
• Ability to read, write, and follow simple, clear instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and safely operate a pouch machine.
• Monitor and adjust the machine during setup to accommodate differences in bag sizes.
• Resolve mechanical issues as needed.
• Remove finished film from the machine and stage it on pallets for pickup.
• Keep the pouch/bag machine area supplied with materials for the next shift.
• Monitor machine operations for efficiency, quality, and minimal scrap.
• Ensure production of high-quality products.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Follow safety guidelines, wear required PPE, and meet OSHA standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Complete rework tasks as needed.
