About The Position

As a Machine Operator, you'll safely operate manufacturing equipment used to produce high-quality agricultural products, including grain bins, livestock equipment, fans, and other steel components. Depending on production needs and your skills, you may be trained to operate a variety of machines throughout our facility. Our equipment includes roll formers, coil processing equipment, CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, assembly stations, and other production machines. Sioux Steel is a family-owned company that has been manufacturing quality agricultural products for generations. We provide stable, year-round employment in a clean, indoor manufacturing environment. We offer training for those experienced in manufacturing or looking to start a new career.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing or machine operation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
  • Ability to read measuring devices and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Dependable attendance and positive work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Stand and walk throughout a 10-hour shift.
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, and lift materials.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with heavier lifting on occasion.
  • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Work safely around moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience is a plus (training provided if needed).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment according to work instructions and production schedules.
  • Read and follow manufacturing orders, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Inspect parts throughout production to verify they meet quality standards.
  • Make minor machine adjustments and report equipment issues when necessary.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely.
  • Use measuring devices to verify dimensions and product quality.
  • Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Cross-train on multiple machines and assist other departments as production demands.
