About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our team in West Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for someone with strong setup knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with tight tolerances and producing high-quality parts.

Requirements

Prior experience operating and setting up CNC machines required
Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders (live and static)
Familiarity with CNC controls and safety features
Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions
Experience with precision measurement tools and first article inspections
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Read and follow setup instructions, tool layout sheets, and machine setup checklists
Perform machine setups and changeovers for jobs within the same product family (turnings, cones, etc.)
Conduct minor program edits with supervision (tool offsets, speeds, and feeds)
Complete full first article inspections, ensuring 100% of dimensions meet specifications
Perform visual inspections to ensure part quality meets company standards (high-end finish and workmanship)
Maintain equipment through daily maintenance (boring jaws, aligning fixtures/vises, cleaning collets and guide bushings)
Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently using control panel features (single block, optional stop, distance-to-go, etc.)
Monitor production and take ownership of job performance to ensure smooth workflow
Train operators on production runs and quality checks
Communicate production status clearly with Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Engineering team
Perform other duties as assigned
