About The Position

Rapak LLC is seeking a Machine Operator for all shifts at their Indianapolis, IN facility. This full-time, hourly position is in Manufacturing Production / Distribution. The role involves operating machinery, ensuring quality control, managing materials, troubleshooting production issues, and adhering to production schedules and targets. The operator will also work with maintenance and supervision to maximize equipment uptime and meet customer expectations. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean work environment, performing quality inspections, managing raw materials and finished goods, recording production and downtime, and following GMP and sanitation requirements. The role also requires performing line changeovers, addressing bag issues, working with packers, managing raw materials from warehouse locations, filling partial pallets, and packing as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Computer experience.
  • Excellent attendance is required.
  • Overtime is required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous industrial work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read rulers, micrometers (US and Metric) & digital metering equipment is preferred.
  • Experience working as a machine operator in a production environment, troubleshooting and meeting schedule demands is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Control the functions of equipment, start/stop of the equipment, follow lockout procedures as required, meet, or exceed the part per minute standards that have been set for each piece of equipment or product line.
  • Conduct and record hourly quality inspections on finished goods.
  • Scan, record, inspect and manage raw materials and finished goods that are produced through the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production interruptions that may take place during the normal course of the production shift and record uptime and downtime.
  • Follow and adhere to daily production schedules and targets.
  • Work with maintenance personnel and supervision to maximize uptime on the equipment or lines to meet customer expectations regarding on-time service.
  • Maintain a logbook for daily production and downtime events.
  • Follow all company procedures regarding GMP’s and sanitation requirements.
  • Able to do change over on all lines.
  • Understand and fix bag issues on lines.
  • Assign and work with packers on lines.
  • Understand how to do PMV if raw materials are in Warehouse location.
  • Understand and know how to fill partial pallet physically and in QAD.
  • Pack as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
