About The Position

Unique Industries is seeking a Machine Operator for their Louisville manufacturing facility. This role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality, providing feedback on the production line, reporting machine settings daily, and participating in CILs (clean, inspect, and lubricate) to keep machines clean and identify defective parts. Maintaining a clean workspace and organized tools are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma
Two years in a manufacturing environment in a similar role
Good mechanical abilities
Basic mathematical skills
Basic computer skills
Knowledge and enforcement of machine safety, i.e., lock-out/tagout procedures, hand tool safety, etc.
Must maintain a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses along with two sets of packaging lines.
Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment.
Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed.
Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc.
Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line.
Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards, including Peer to Peer communication, Centerlines, CILs, Defect Handling, 6S, and Breakdown Elimination.
Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct.
Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently.
Other duties as assigned.
