About The Position

The Machine Operator role involves routine tasks such as performing grinding, select fit sizing, and/or assembly operations. This includes performing quality inspections (following control plans, reaction charts, SPC charts, etc.), machine set-ups, basic troubleshooting, manual handling of material, LOTO, and 5S activities. Non-routine tasks include sorting questionable materials, processing rework, and assisting other product lines. Key responsibilities are maintaining job progress, addressing concerns, identifying process improvement opportunities, conducting root cause analysis for quality issues, ensuring product quality through inspections, and cross-training. The role also emphasizes a safe and inclusive work culture by adhering to policies and engaging in 5S practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Required
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, machine operation, or production related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete production and quality documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking, data entry, and machine interfaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills that support a collaborative and cohesive teamwork environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with computerized machining equipment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Work from control plans, blueprints, and/or oral instructions in order to setup, operate, and maintain the machines.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Responsible for quality, including measuring finished parts, visual inspections of material, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Expected to cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
