About The Position

Phoenix Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator at our manufacturing facility in Glasgow, Missouri. This position reports to the shop foreman and is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce parts per fabrication drawings. This job is a multi-skilled position and requires a keen eye for detail, CNC programming experience, strong math skills, and ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings or sketches.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating CNC machines in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with CNC programming.
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to exercise good judgement.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines; work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple departments and diverse personalities.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Agree to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the company.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Read, analyze, and comprehend fabrication drawings and sketch designs.
  • Set-up, calibrate, maintain, and repair machinery and machine tools as required.
  • Operate lifting and moving devises to move materials and equipment to access areas for production.
  • Rack work pieces on skids, inspect, mark, and transfer finished products to staging / shipping areas.
  • Maintain activity log records of production and verifies quantity and completeness of job order.
  • Tracks inventory of supplies required to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Initiate and maintain good housekeeping practice in all work areas, including cleanliness of the equipment being operated.
  • Complies with all company safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
