About The Position

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for operating injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components according to production schedules and quality standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, monitoring production processes, and maintaining product consistency.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant vocational training preferred.
Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics injection molding.
Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules.
Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision.
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate injection molding machines, including loading raw materials, adjusting machine settings, and initiating production cycles.
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning, detect abnormalities, and address issues promptly.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Conduct visual inspections of molded parts to verify conformity to specifications and quality standards.
Monitor process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to identify deviations and make necessary adjustments.
Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment to validate product dimensions and characteristics.
Assist with mold changes, material changes, and machine adjustments as needed to facilitate smooth production transitions.
Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve technical issues.
Communicate production status, equipment performance, and any deviations from production targets to supervisors and team members.
Record production data, including production counts, scrap rates, downtime, and machine adjustments, accurately and in a timely manner.
Complete production reports, log sheets, and quality documentation to maintain traceability and compliance with quality management systems.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine surfaces, tooling, and surrounding areas, to ensure a safe and efficient production environment.
Adhere to safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the identification and mitigation of workplace hazards.
