About The Position

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for operating injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components according to production schedules and quality standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, monitoring production processes, and maintaining product consistency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant vocational training preferred.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics injection molding.
  • Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines, including loading raw materials, adjusting machine settings, and initiating production cycles.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning, detect abnormalities, and address issues promptly.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of molded parts to verify conformity to specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to identify deviations and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment to validate product dimensions and characteristics.
  • Assist with mold changes, material changes, and machine adjustments as needed to facilitate smooth production transitions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate production status, equipment performance, and any deviations from production targets to supervisors and team members.
  • Record production data, including production counts, scrap rates, downtime, and machine adjustments, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete production reports, log sheets, and quality documentation to maintain traceability and compliance with quality management systems.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine surfaces, tooling, and surrounding areas, to ensure a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the identification and mitigation of workplace hazards.
