Machine Operator - D Shift (10-hour Shifts: Thursday - Sunday)
About The Position
RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a Machine Operator for their Santa Ana, CA facility. This role involves operating various machines to produce precision bearings and components for industrial, defense, and aerospace industries. The company is a leading international manufacturer with a long history and a significant market capitalization. The Machine Operator will be responsible for maintaining a clean work area, performing preventative maintenance, and operating machinery such as speed lathes, assembly tools, hone machines, and CNC lathes. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and quality standards. This role is subject to ITAR and EAR regulations, requiring US citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 0-3 years of factory-related experience.
- Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness and quality system awareness.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information effectively one-on-one.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status due to ITAR and EAR regulations.
Responsibilities
- For speed lathes, perform trim and deburr using hand tools.
- For assembly, install bearings into a housing using dedicated tools and fixtures.
- Operate the hone machine to size the inner diameter of the part.
- For CNC lathes, perform load/unload operations and check size coming off the machine.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, swaging and all bench operations and inspection.
- Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
