Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Basic understanding of machining principles and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions.
  • Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
  • Basic math skills include adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and fractions.
  • Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass any customer required testing/machining specifications pertaining to their parts and standards, as required.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks at a high volume by set deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or CNC Machinist Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates manual and CNC machines under supervision.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Performs machining operations from drawings and written work instructions.
  • Measures and inspects finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
  • Utilizes basic mathematical skills to measure and record dimensional items with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Documents production data and reports deviations from specifications.
  • Assumes responsibility for his or her part quality.
  • Utilizes standard and customer measuring equipment to perform dimensional checks, blueprint reading, and offsets.
  • Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of machines by ensuring they are in operational condition by performing daily preventive maintenance checks of oil levels and coolant concentration, reporting any machine abnormalities to the shift team leader or supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to 6S standards.
  • Loads and unloads products and fixtures on assigned CNC machine.
  • Works safely in accordance to RBC Transport Dynamics’ safety guidelines, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Reports nonconforming parts to shift lead, supervisor, manager, or engineering.
  • Collaborates with team members and report issues to supervisors.
  • Ensures continuity between 1st and 2nd shifts through verbal or documented communication for required actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Obtains job assignments from supervisor or manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
