About The Position

Ocean Steel, incorporated in 1955, services markets including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. They specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, and also manufacture and install platework such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks, and custom process-equipment. Ocean Steel operates two New Brunswick plants: the original location in Saint John and the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, acquired in 1995.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years experience in steel fabrication environment considered an asset
• Flexibility to work night shift on rotations
• Completion of high school
• CSA approved steel toe boots

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints
• Operation of the steel fabrication equipment: band saws, CNC punches, shears, CNC drill and burning machines
• Lift or move steel materials into position using overhead cranes
• Clean and maintain work space
