About The Position

Operate fiber draw towers from a basket lift at different height levels to convert glass preforms into optical fiber. Monitor and control process parameters such as furnace temperature, draw speed, and tension. Perform real-time measurements of fiber diameter, coating concentricity. Apply fiber coatings and ensure proper UV curing. Conduct quality inspections in compliance with Coherent specifications. Handle and load preforms safely. Troubleshoot equipment and process deviations. Perform preventive maintenance on draw tower systems. Document production data and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams for process improvements. Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a precision environment
  • Ability to operate automated manufacturing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Willingness to work shifts including nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in optical fiber manufacturing or photonics
  • Knowledge of fiber optics testing and measurement systems
  • Associate degree in a technical field (e.g., photonics, materials science)
