About The Position
The Machine Operator will set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines, automatic and manual drill presses, vapor hone, and punch presses. This role involves performing inspections, completing paperwork, solving shop math problems, and selecting appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds. The operator will also be responsible for reading blueprints, performing in-process inspections, following safe work practices, cleaning work areas, and adhering to 5S Standards and all company policies. Cross-training in other areas may be required.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must have 1+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Must be familiar with basic measuring tools such as calipers, comparators and micrometers
- Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines within the 2nd Operation area
- Perform First Article Inspections
- Inspect parts
- Complete daily paperwork
- Solve shop math related problems
- Make proper selection of cutting tools, speeds and feeds
- Properly complete dimensional inspection reports
- Properly operate various machines within the department
- Read blue prints
- Perform in-process inspection
- Follow safe work practices
- Clean work areas
- Follow both verbal and written instructions
- Crosstrain in other areas as needed
- Adhere to 5S Standards
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
