About The Position

KLN Family Brands is hiring a Mid Shift Machine Operator for Kenny's Candy & Confections. The operator runs and maintains packaging machine and scale equipment, bags product into finished products, and may repackage product into shippers or trays when working on a utility line. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:40 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. All-in hourly compensation is $23.31, consisting of $19.90 base pay, a $1.22-per-hour-worked sign-on bonus, and a $1.19-per-hour mid-shift differential. Profit-sharing eligibility begins after one year of employment.

KLN Family Brands is a third-generation, family-owned business founded in 1964, with corporate headquarters in Perham, Minnesota. Its companies manufacture human and pet food products. Hires are contingent on a satisfactory background check and drug test; an offer is not final until both results are satisfactory to the employer.

Requirements

• Good attendance record.
• Experience or training of one month or more.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to learn, memorize, and execute a sequence of procedures.

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Firm grasp of manufacturing and quality processes.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all equipment used for sanitation and food safety.
• Operate packaging machine equipment.
• Set up equipment, including packaging machines, printers, and tapers, for processing and production.
• Retrieve formers and film or boxes needed for production.
• Report material or equipment problems to the production supervisor.
• Perform required tests.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Ensure all employees are logged into the shop order and enter production into IFS.
• Communicate with the warehouse, quality control, cooks, and other operators regarding remaining production.
• Complete orders according to the production schedule and supervisory direction.
• Operate and maintain packaging machine and scale equipment; bag product into finished products and repackage product into shippers or trays when working on a utility line.
