About The Position

We are seeking dynamic and results driven Machine Operator to join our Insulation Greer team. Operate manufacturing equipment (silicone system, printer, perforator, label applicator, saws, and dust collection systems) to shape, cut, and prepare foam insulation boards for packaging. Inspect and test product for quality measures including dimensions, foam quality, and appearance; grade boards and cull inferior product. Conduct operator-performed maintenance on all equipment including blade changes, release agent replenishment, printer and label applicator servicing, and dust collector cleaning. Enter cutting parameters on touch screen and monitor production process for accuracy. Record and maintain density measurements and quality control data as required. Maintain housekeeping on all operated equipment and work area; monitor and change trash bins. Provide backup support to Packagers during breaks and labor shortages. Collaborate with pour table operator to resolve process issues during production runs.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 8 to 10-hour shifts and walk on concrete floors, stairs, and raised platforms within a 150-foot radius.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, and manipulate foam insulation boards (10-20 pounds), wood panels (approximately 50 pounds), and industrial saw blades (approximately 35 pounds).
  • Ability to constantly use hands, fingers, and arms to adjust equipment controls, operate computer keyboards, and perform detailed manual tasks.
  • Ability to read and use precision measurement tools including tape measures (accurate to 1/16"), micrometers (accurate to .001"), and lab scales.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations with multi-digit numbers and apply units of weight, measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, memos, and maintain written data records.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings with other employees.
