About The Position

The Machine Operator position is responsible for operating machinery to produce finished goods, maintaining efficiency and quality, and performing various manufacturing tasks. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The operator will also be responsible for basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting production data.

Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Bending, lifting, twisting on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with material handlers, other employees and managers as needed.
  • Attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to clearly differentiate colors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting on multi-color flexographic press is preferred.
  • Basic Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Operate machinery to produce finished goods.
  • Maintain efficiency and quality in machine operation.
  • Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using production equipment to ensure steady workflow.
  • Perform equipment adjustments.
  • Mount cutting dies, print plates, and other tooling required for each job.
  • Perform quality checks prior to each job assigned and during the production run.
  • Maintain documented checklists for quality checks, ink monitoring, and clean up.
  • Keep machine setup and run times at maximum efficiency.
  • Help troubleshoot any quality or machine issues as they occur.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, notifying Maintenance and Supervisors of any issues.
  • Perform daily and detailed weekly cleanup in accordance with the cleanup checklist.
  • Identify and report any damaged tooling that needs repair.
  • Identify product safety concerns and report them to your supervisor.
  • Maintain proper production reporting.
  • Perform other duties as determined by Plant Superintendent, Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead.
