About The Position

This role is responsible for packing finished envelopes into cartons while performing routine quality checks. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and adherence to safety and quality procedures. The operator will also assist with machine maintenance, cleaning, and communication between shifts. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read a ruler.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and understand job jackets.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to adhere to all safety and quality procedures.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check and physical exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Repetitive handling and packing of envelopes into required packaging.
  • Manually feeding cut blanks into machines as required.
  • Stopping machines in case of malfunction or quality issues.
  • Inspecting envelopes for quality of folding, sealing, printing, and gluing.
  • Periodically counting packs of envelopes to verify accuracy of mechanical counters.
  • Minimizing waste by ensuring proper segregation.
  • Assisting machine technicians with simple tasks to restore machine functionality.
  • Assisting in the regular cleaning of assigned machines.
  • Conducting offline cleaning of printer parts as needed.
  • Operating all envelope folding equipment.
  • Reviewing and understanding customer requirements from job jackets.
  • Communicating pertinent information with incoming and outgoing shifts.
  • Accurate completion of daily production reports.
  • Performing other duties as required.
