About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for assisting in the operation of automated and semi-automated machines to produce customized flexible packaging products. The role involves interpreting work orders, maintaining accurate product counts, and supporting various stages of production. Machine Operators are expected to uphold quality and safety standards, contribute to production goals, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills, including the ability to read tape measures and calipers accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude that supports teamwork.
  • Ability to follow written and visual instructions accurately.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, reaching, and twisting.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to sustain prolonged periods of visual inspection.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of flexible packaging and basic tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and production scrap/defect issues is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders and machine diagrams to understand product specifications and manufacturing procedures.
  • Assist Machine Operators with retrieving supplies and materials for production.
  • Assist Machine Operators with machine setup and changeover procedures.
  • Assist Machine Operators with quality control, including conducting visual quality checks and inspections.
  • Assist Machine Operators with picking, packing, labeling, and moving finished products to staging areas.
  • Assist Machine Operators with cleaning and performing limited maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist Machine Operators with completing production records, including logs of materials used and items produced.
  • Package and label products accurately while maintaining work center production quotas.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support other production activities as assigned.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
  • Participate in training and career development programs offered by the company.
