About The Position

The Numerical Control Machine Operator B sets up and operates numerical control (NC) machines to cut, shape, or form metal parts according to precise specifications. The role requires technical machining skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols and work instructions in a manufacturing environment. The position involves CNC setup and teardown, measurement and unit-conversion math, and standing and walking throughout the workday.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience with CNC setup and teardown.
At least 1 year of experience with CNC machine operations such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical operations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals across different units of measure.
Solid math skills for accurate measurements and conversions, including metric-to-inch conversions.
Competence translating instructions into CNC commands.
Strong problem-solving skills for production-related issues.
Ability to address routine issues with standardized solutions.
Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
Visual requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
