About The Position

Program, operate, and monitor equipment, making adjustments as needed pursuant to prints and/or work orders. Processes may include precision drilling and tapping, sawing, cutting, and shaping steel, and/or milling flat stock. The operator monitors the work being completed and takes many critical measurements, accurately reading a tape measure and making adjustments as needed. If the machine is producing work that is not satisfactory, operator must be able to make small adjustments using a keypad on the control panel of the machine to correct the problem. Operator uses overhead cranes and other lifting devices as required. Operator occasionally uses a forklift. Operator stands 100% of the time while operating equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience and/or post-secondary education in C.N.C. programming and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret work orders and/or prints.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure, reading and checking measurements.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand 100% of the time.
  • Punctual and have good attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years in a manufacturing setting, along with a technical college degree
  • Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical ability

Responsibilities

  • Monitor work being completed and take critical measurements.
  • Accurately read a tape measure and make adjustments as needed.
  • Make small adjustments using a keypad on the control panel of the machine to correct problems.
  • Use overhead cranes and other lifting devices as required.
  • Occasionally use a forklift.
