About The Position

This is a contract position for a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift, working Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 2:30am. The role involves picking and packing materials in a cold room environment (averaging 40°F). The operator will use RF scanners and have basic computer skills, with accuracy being important. The position requires developing skills in basic tasks and procedures within a specific skill area, applying basic knowledge to complete routine tasks, and adhering to quality guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role operates under general to limited supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
  • Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.
  • Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
  • Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
  • General computer skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a cold room environment (averaging 40°F).
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with vibration.
  • Ability to work in high, precarious places (occasionally).
  • Ability to work with fumes/airborne particles (occasionally).
  • Ability to work in hot conditions (no AC in summer).
  • Ability to work in cold conditions (limited heating in winter).
  • Ability to tolerate moderate to loud noise levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred ability to use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse.
