About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and running machines on the shop floor. This role involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, practicing safe work habits, and following all safety procedures. The operator must identify and report unsafe working conditions, leaks, and implement corrective actions. Quality checks on products are essential, as is assisting Technicians and Engineering in investigating and solving process issues. The operator must also understand and monitor area gauges for calibration and serviceability, maintain a low NCR ratio, and make machine adjustments, tool changes, and perform required quality checks. Completing paperwork, managing "hot parts", maintaining production output standards, and fabricating/reworking machine parts to print and holding tolerances are also key responsibilities. Proficient use of all tool room shop machines is required to meet plant needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 Years+ Experience in Machine Operation is preferred
  • Ability to set up, operate, and run machines
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Practices safe work habits and follows all safety procedures
  • Identifies unsafe working conditions and implements corrective actions
  • Identifies leaks and reports them to maintenance
  • Performs quality checks on products before and after the process
  • Identifies, understands, and solves quality issues in the process
  • Assists Technicians and Engineering to investigate process issues and solve them
  • Understands all area gauges and monitors for calibration and serviceability
  • Must maintain NCR ratio below maximum ratio allowed
  • Makes machine adjustments, tool changes, & performs required quality checks
  • Completes paperwork in conjunction to assigned tasks
  • Responsible for "hot parts" specific to process
  • Maintains production output standards
  • Fabricates parts to print, holding tolerances
  • Reworks machine parts for repair, holding tolerances
  • Proficient use of all tool room shop machines to meet plant needs
