The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and running machines on the shop floor. This role involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, practicing safe work habits, and following all safety procedures. The operator must identify and report unsafe working conditions, leaks, and implement corrective actions. Quality checks on products are essential, as is assisting Technicians and Engineering in investigating and solving process issues. The operator must also understand and monitor area gauges for calibration and serviceability, maintain a low NCR ratio, and make machine adjustments, tool changes, and perform required quality checks. Completing paperwork, managing "hot parts", maintaining production output standards, and fabricating/reworking machine parts to print and holding tolerances are also key responsibilities. Proficient use of all tool room shop machines is required to meet plant needs.
