About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring a Machine Operator to support production of sausage crumbles and dry sausage at its South Hutchinson, Kansas facility. The operator runs machinery to keep product moving through the production process and ensures that the correct ingredients and supplies are used on the line. The role involves monitoring and adjusting machine settings, reporting equipment maintenance needs to a supervisor, and following safety requirements and Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate will learn and use the EIM System and handheld scanners, wear required personal protective equipment, and perform other assigned duties. The facility operates six days a week, and schedules vary by available position; some may include a seven-day rotation. This is a second-shift position with a starting base rate of $21.60 per hour and a $1.10-per-hour shift differential.

Requirements

At least six months of operator experience with the same employer, documented in the application work history.
Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull an 80-pound film cart.
Ability and willingness to perform the listed physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery to ensure continuous product flow through the production process.
Ensure the proper ingredients and supplies are being used on the production line.
Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed.
Notify a supervisor when machines require maintenance.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow Tyson policies and procedures.
Learn and use the EIM System and handheld scanners.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, a bump cap, and hearing protection.
Perform other duties as assigned.
