Material Handler - South Hutchinson KS
About The Position
The Material Handler ensures materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. The facility produces sausage crumbles and dry sausage and operates six days a week. Positions are available across shifts, and schedules vary; some may include a 7-day rotation. The starting base pay is $21.05 per hour, with an additional $1.10 per hour shift differential for 2nd- and 3rd-shift placement. The role requires working across production areas and in extremely cold temperatures. Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of operator experience with the same employer on various types of powered industrial vehicles or material-handling equipment.
- Willingness and ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to read explicit simple instructions and complete required paperwork.
- Ability to visually inspect product.
- Willingness and ability to work in extremely cold temperatures and wear necessary safety equipment.
- Previous Tyson employees must meet a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to three times of employment.
Responsibilities
- Learn product codes, identify where product belongs, and keep the pre-blend cooler organized.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport raw product to and from coolers and production areas.
- Weigh and record the weight of finished ground product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
