Temporary Machine Operator - 1st and 2nd Shift
About The Position
Apogee Architectural Metals is hiring temporary production employees to fill 1st and 2nd shift positions at our Monett, MO location! Pay: $17.25/hour + $2.00/hour shift premium if working 2nd shift. Architectural Metals (Metals) is a segment within Apogee that is a provider of aluminum windows, curtainwall (soon to be retired), storefront and entrance systems. We offer an integrated set of capabilities including design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly. Our market-leading brands offer solutions for a wide range of construction project types and sizes across the U.S. and Canada. We are known for our dependable on-time service, robust engineering capabilities, broad product portfolio, and industry-leading quality. Brands supported within the Metals segment include: Alumicor, EFCO, Linetec, and Tubelite.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
- Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
- Ability to follow blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
- Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
- Basic operation of simple machinery and equipment, such as presses, lathes, or cutters.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating machines.
- Producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.
- Attention to detail to ensure machine operation is accurate and products meet basic quality standards.
- Basic problem-solving ability to identify and report machine malfunctions.
- Must be cross-trained and able to support all Operator I roles.
