About The Position

The Machine Operator will perform setup and complete production schedules by following directions on the press brake programs. This role involves operating a press brake to add bends, pem insertion machines to add pem fasteners to sheetmetal parts, and masking/unmasking sheetmetal parts. The operator will also run punch machines and follow instructions from supervisors, engineers, and managers. Key responsibilities include accurately reporting production information, maintaining a clean work area, troubleshooting defective processes, supporting the ISO Quality System, identifying and eliminating safety hazards, and participating in Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Other duties may be requested.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment with multiple product changes during the shift.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to use calipers and other measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Ability to perform job function while standing for an entire shift, including overtime when necessary.
  • Ability to operator a forklift.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, or TN or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more year’s of sheetmetal fabrication experience preferred.
  • CNC operation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions assigned by the supervisor, engineers & managers.
  • Accurately report production information to supervisors and managers.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Troubleshoot defective processes.
  • Support ISO Quality System, Quality Policy and Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Safety hazard identification and elimination.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Other duties as requested.
