About The Position

The Machine Operator in the Sand Mold department operates a variety of molding machines to produce high-quality castings that meet customer specifications. The role ensures sand molds are manufactured in compliance with established quality standards and product requirements. This is a second-shift position, Monday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., with overtime on Friday and/or Saturday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Ability to manually lift and move materials weighing up to 55 pounds and push or pull 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities including reaching, lifting, carrying, crouching, bending, and using a power grip and wrist-turn motions.
• Ability to walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
• Ability to see, inspect, and evaluate product quality.
• Ability to read and understand written work instructions in English.
• Ability to walk up and down steps and climb ladders and stairs of varying heights.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
• Ability to wear task-based personal protective equipment.

• One year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate molding machines, including automatic systems and manual cope-and-drag machines.
• Prepare and pour sand molds in accordance with quality standards and production requirements.
• Extract castings from sand molds after pouring and inspect them for defects or deviations from specifications.
• Maintain product quality and resolve unusual operating conditions.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Adjust work schedules and duties to meet company needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Successfully complete specific education, training, or certification programs relevant to the role if required.
