About The Position
American Augers, a division of The Toro Company located in West Salem, Ohio, is seeking a Machine Operator. American Augers manufactures the largest horizontal directional drills and a full range of auger boring machines, known for their durability and backed by global support. This role involves operating production equipment and performing mechanical assembly.
Requirements
- Familiarity with and basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including understanding written instructions, maintaining production records, and calculating sums, differences, and fractions.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience or training in welding, machining, mechanical repair, or metal working machinery operation would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Operating a drill press and saw
- Reading information from blueprints
- Setting up, adjusting, and operating production equipment
- Monitoring machine performance and carrying out operations in proper sequence
- Setting up fixtures, mounting parts, and performing mechanical assembly using hand and air tools
- Using a computer to check part location, inventory, and routing
- Maintaining production records
