The Machine Operator works with the Production Supervisor on operation, documentation, and care of furnace equipment. This role involves informing supervisors of changes and discrepancies within the furnace processes. The position requires mechanical assembly and repair of furnace equipment, operating all furnace equipment as needed, and loading/unloading powder furnaces. It also includes routine cleaning and care of machines, gages, and other equipment, as well as the use of various hand, powered, and pneumatic tools. The operator will inspect and/or sort powder, verify and use measurement devices, and perform compaction of powder or elements using a press and die. This role requires advising supervisors of any part, equipment, and process difficulties, and informing them of out-of-tolerance conditions. The operator must follow instructions on process control plans and reference documents, adhere to safety regulations, and audit products, processes, and documentation. Responsibilities also include completing records, participating in training and continuous improvement, troubleshooting processing issues, operating lifting equipment, maintaining a clean work area, packaging, labeling, and generating shipper documentation. The position is primarily 1st shift with the possibility of 2nd and 3rd shifts, Monday to Friday.
