About The Position

The Machine Operator works in the Printing Department and operates printing presses while packing and unpacking rigid plastic containers and lids. A fully qualified Press Operator may be responsible for one or more of the listed duties at a given time. The role spends most of its time on an air-conditioned shop floor exposed to noise and moving machinery.

Requirements

Fluent in English, with good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others as part of a team.
Machine operation skills.
Ability to give concentrated attention for long periods.
Sound judgment and the ability to make good decisions.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs.
Ability to work with constant exposure to moving machinery and noise and perform repetitive, unchanging movements.

Nice To Haves

Dry offset printing experience.

Responsibilities

Verify job kits and perform line clearance during printing press tear-down.
Replace plates and wash and prepare colour heads.
Operate six- and eight-colour presses for lids and bases.
Pack and unpack boxes according to customer requirements.
Take trending tray samples and maintain the trending tray.
Apply labels and stamp every box without pre-labeling.
Cover other machines during lunch and breaks.
Visually inspect products at the packing station.
Update job cards.
Enter information on the Daily Machine Scheduling and Attainment Board (White Board).
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety, conduct, 5S, HACCP, and Health and Safety rules.
