About The Position

Blommer Chocolate Company is seeking motivated and reliable Machine Operators to join their mission of Bringing Chocolate to Life! Since 1939, Blommer has been a family-owned business providing delicious, high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. We are growing and offer a generous benefits package, tuition reimbursement, and a unique birthday treat of 10 pounds of free chocolate. This position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with a pay rate of $23/hr plus a $1 shift differential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Input required documentation of product specifications and quality into the system.
  • Adjust machines as needed to minimize inaccuracies, defects, or waste.
  • Deliver regular sample tests to the laboratory to confirm accurate recipe specifications, measuring items such as fineness, color and consistency.
  • Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ensure critical control point compliance documenting US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; report any non-conformities.
  • Rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be needed.
  • Collaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout the production cycle.
  • Pick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (maintaining clean work areas, etc.).
  • Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others.
  • Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sources.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards.
  • Adhere to FDA HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturers.
  • Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct.
