About The Position

A Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery involved in the production of aluminum products. These roles often require technical skills and precision in handling specialized equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards. All employees are expected to uphold the Dant Clayton values and all company policies as outlined in the Dant Clayton Employee Handbook.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Knowledge/experience of manufacturing machines like punches, computerized saws, benders, etc
  • Must be able to read shop schematics/shop drawings
  • Must be able to accurately read and interpret a tape measure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, organized and communicates well verbally and in writing
  • Work 40 hours per week with overtime required as needed
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Handle and control machines that shape, cut, form, and process aluminum materials
  • Set up equipment according to the specifications for each production run, including loading raw materials and adjusting machine settings when permitted.
  • Inspect materials and products to ensure they meet specified standards, and make necessary adjustments to the machine or process to correct any issues.
  • Check every first and tenth part to ensure material is processed according to specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This may include cleaning, lubricating, and or notifying maintenance for repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective equipment and ensuring the work environment is hazard-free
  • Identify and resolve issues with machinery, notifying management as needed to ensure minimal downtime in the production process.
  • Keep detailed records of production data, to include clocking in and out on the work order correctly and filling in Doppler numbers.
  • Follow all requirements in compliance with ISO standards.
