Machine Operator - GAW 2nd Shift
About The Position
As a Merchants Metals Galvanized Line Wire Operator, you will provide operator support in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for monitoring product at the beginning or end of the line, maintaining equipment as directed by the shift lead, and monitoring multiple units of production simultaneously. The operator will also troubleshoot the line as needed, participate in the weekly zinc drossing process, and clean machinery while maintaining the surrounding area, keeping it free of debris. Additionally, the role involves attending to the zinc kettle, adding zinc ingots, and replacing charcoal and flux. Operating an industrial forklift in a safe manner is also a key responsibility, along with performing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Must be able to work in a team-based, positive, fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to understand written instructions and follow procedures.
- Must be able and willing to work 5 PM-5 AM MON-FRI and Saturdays as needed. Employees average at least 40 hours a week, no more than 50.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
