About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, development, and operations tasks that promote efficient production at MSI Express Inc. Their duties and responsibilities often include: Monitoring and maintaining production equipment and machinery. Line operations, troubleshooting and maintenance, changeovers including sanitation, inventory management, and inventory reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • 1-2 years previous job experience as either a machine operator or maintenance technician.
  • Must be able to assemble/disassemble machinery.
  • Must have knowledge of lockout tagout practices.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
  • Appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly execute position.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to identify different written forms, box labels and bottle codes.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment for the line operation.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required within your facility in the appropriate designated areas.
  • Must require compliance with OSHA regulations or MSDS standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain production equipment and machinery.
  • Perform line operations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain machinery.
  • Perform changeovers, including sanitation.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation.
  • Understand all quality specifications associated with the machinery and operate the machinery or equipment in compliance with those standards.
  • Operate the machinery or equipment at speeds sufficient to accomplish the production efficiency goals set by the supervisor.
  • Recognize when the equipment is malfunctioning or operating at substandard speeds, and provide basic maintenance/troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Complete basic preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure that all raw materials required to operate the machinery or equipment are of the specified part number prior to being installed on the equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance on the machinery or equipment to which they are assigned.
  • Lead in the cleanup and / or the setup of the line by stocking, reworking, troubleshooting, assembling parts and any other duties that will be required to keep the line functioning.
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.
  • Take responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence.
  • Report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by management.
