Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Machine Operators for their 3rd shift. This role involves following production instructions, setting up and operating various machinery, inspecting operations, and adhering to strict cleanliness and safety protocols in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Requirements

Average math skills.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English.
Ability to complete simple logs and reports in English.
Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.
Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with company policies.
Ability to consistently stand for an entire shift.
Ability to learn fundamental machining concepts.
Proficiency in using measuring devices.
Ability to work closely with other team members.
Attention to detail.
Commitment to dependability and consistent performance.
Detail-oriented with flexibility to respond to shifting production demands.

Responsibilities

Follow production instructions and tasks from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures to ensure safe machine operation.
Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines according to specifications.
Monitor the production process to ensure machines function correctly and products meet quality standards.
Perform inspections and measurements of finished products using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
Use a crane or buddy system to maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts.
Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
