Machine operators are direct labor employees responsible for operating SMT (Surface Mount Technology) equipment. This role involves setting up machine operations at the start of the shift, verifying PCB identification, program name, conveyor width, solder paste, and mistake proofing. The operator will troubleshoot various pieces of equipment, perform operation, setup, and product changeover, and be knowledgeable of manufacturing instructions. Responsibilities also include occasionally changing feeders, splicing reels, scanning parts, understanding Panapro for correct part identification, performing hourly SPC and EPIC inspections, and performing daily, weekly, monthly, and tri-monthly maintenance on the machine according to the rotational maintenance schedule. Benchmarking placement of machines and laser etch will also be verified. The role requires assisting Cell Leads with training new operators and becoming certified to operate all machines within the assigned line (qualified within the business unit). Compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures is mandatory, along with performing other duties as assigned.
