About The Position

This is a 1st Shift Machine Operator position requiring experience. The shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some Saturday overtime required. The pay rate is $19 per hour. The role involves operating machinery to produce finished goods, maintaining efficiency and quality, and performing various manufacturing tasks to ensure a steady workflow. Responsibilities include equipment adjustments, mounting tooling, performing quality checks, maintaining documentation, optimizing machine setup and run times, troubleshooting issues, ensuring equipment maintenance, performing daily and weekly cleanups, reporting damaged tooling, identifying product safety concerns, and maintaining production reporting. Other duties may be assigned by plant management.

Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Bending, lifting, twisting on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with material handlers, other employees and managers as needed.
  • Attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to clearly differentiate colors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting on multi color flexographic press is preferred.
  • Basic Computer skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Operate machinery to produce finished goods.
  • Operate machinery to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using production equipment to ensure steady workflow.
  • Perform equipment adjustments.
  • Mount cutting dies, print plates, and any other tooling required for each job.
  • Perform quality checks prior to each job assigned and during the production run.
  • Maintain documented checklist for quality checks, ink monitoring, and clean up.
  • Keep machine setup and run times at maximum efficiency.
  • Help troubleshoot any quality or machine issues as they occur.
  • Ensure that the equipment is properly maintained, notifying Maintenance and Supervisors of any issues that occur.
  • Perform daily and detailed weekly cleanup in accordance with the cleanup checklist.
  • Identify and report any damaged tooling that needs repair.
  • Identify product safety concerns and report them to your supervisor.
  • Maintain proper production reporting.
  • Perform other duties as determined by Plant Superintendent, Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead.
