About The Position

MPI is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the Valve Department. The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment. Make changes and adjustments to valves as needed. Operate valve test machines, forklifts, cranes and packaging equipment. Perform in person valve tests with customers as required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be safety orientated for self and others.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Good with basic math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer.
  • Ability to understand machinery processes.
  • Be able to print, read, understand, and complete work orders in D365.
  • Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment.
  • Making changes and adjustments to valves as needed.
  • Operating valve test machines, forklifts, cranes and packaging equipment.
  • Performing in person valve tests with customers as required.
  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of co-workers.
  • Assisting supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wearing appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Proactively promoting the McWane Way principles.
  • Following all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program.
  • Advising management of any deviations from this program.
  • Identifying requirements for each valve order.
  • Operating forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant.
  • Reworking valves to meet customer requirements.
  • Being proficient with quality and able to meet prescribed production output objectives for the work center.
  • Painting and packaging finished product.
  • Managing inventory locations and product packaging.
  • Cross training in the pipe department.
  • Consistent attendance, ability to get to work on time, every day.
  • Being a team player, willingness to work when needed, assist across a variety of different machines.
  • Being positive, enthusiastic, and helpful.
