About The Position

MPI is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the Valve Department. The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment. This role involves making changes and adjustments to valves as needed, operating valve test machines, forklifts, cranes, and packaging equipment. The operator will also perform in-person valve tests with customers as required. Requirements

  • Experience as a Machine Operator.
  • Ability to maintain valve inventory and process valve orders.
  • Ability to make changes and adjustments to valves.
  • Proficiency in operating valve test machines, forklifts, cranes, and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to perform in-person valve tests with customers.
  • Ability to ensure personal safety and the safety of co-workers.
  • Ability to assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE (fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection).
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness of the assigned work area and a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to promote the McWane Way principles.
  • Ability to follow all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program.
  • Ability to identify requirements for each valve order.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to rework valves to meet customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with quality standards and ability to meet prescribed production output objectives.
  • Ability to paint and package finished product.
  • Ability to manage inventory locations and product packaging.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
  • Ability to understand machinery processes.
  • Ability to print, read, understand, and complete work orders in D365.
  • Willingness to cross-train in the pipe department.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Team player mentality and willingness to assist across different machines.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be safety-oriented for self and others.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to determine and distinguish color.
  • Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying requirements for each valve order.
  • Operating a forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant.
  • Reworking valves to meet customer requirements.
  • Meeting prescribed production output objectives for the work center.
  • Painting and packaging finished product.
  • Managing inventory locations and product packaging.
  • Printing, reading, understanding, and completing work orders in D365.
  • Cross-training in the pipe department.
  • Maintaining consistent attendance and arriving to work on time, every day.
  • Working as a team player, assisting across a variety of different machines when needed.
  • Working overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Working outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerating exposure to loud noises.
